The Caislee Comfort Kit

About...

The Caislee Comfort Kit was born from one of the hardest moments of our lives: the day we left the hospital without our daughter.

When Caislee was born sleeping on December 4, 2022, we were given a simple shoebox to carry home the few keepsakes we had of her: her tiny footprints, a hospital bracelet, and the precious memories we made in the short time we shared. That little box held nearly everything tangible we had left of our daughter. Yet walking out of the hospital carrying a box instead of our baby was a heartbreak we will never forget.

In the midst of our grief, we began thinking about the families who would one day find themselves walking a similar road. We knew how much it meant to have something to hold onto, something that acknowledged our daughter's life and gave us a way to preserve the pieces of her we could bring home. We wanted to offer other families a little of that same care.

And so, the Caislee Comfort Kit was born.

Created in loving memory of Caislee Rylin, the Caislee Comfort Kit is intended to offer gentle comfort, meaningful keepsakes, and compassionate resources to families experiencing the loss of a baby. Each kit will be thoughtfully prepared with the hope of helping parents preserve precious memories and feel remembered during a time when the world can feel unbearably quiet.

We know that no box, keepsake, or collection of resources can make the loss of a baby hurt less. Nothing can replace the child a family longs to hold. But we believe that small acts of kindness matter. A meaningful keepsake, a thoughtful gesture, or the simple acknowledgment that a baby's life mattered can offer comfort when words are not enough.

The Caislee Comfort Kit is one way we hope to remind families that their baby is worthy of remembrance, their grief deserves tenderness, and their love will always matter.

Bringing Comfort to Families Experiencing Baby Loss

No family should have to navigate the loss of a baby feeling unseen or forgotten. In the midst of unimaginable heartbreak, families deserve compassion, acknowledgment, and the freedom to honor their baby's life in their own way.

Our hope is to make the Caislee Comfort Kit available to grieving families as our resources and community support grow. We are beginning with a simple, intentional approach, focusing on meaningful items and thoughtful resources that can be gathered and prepared with care.

Through donated items, financial contributions, and the kindness of our community, we hope to build this program one kit at a time. Every contribution, no matter its size, helps us take another step toward placing comfort into the hands of a family who needs it.

This mission is deeply personal to our family. We know what it feels like to leave the hospital carrying the few physical reminders of a daughter we love beyond words. We cannot change what happened to Caislee, but we can honor her life by extending compassion to other families walking through the heartbreak of baby loss.

Caislee's life matters. Her name will be spoken. And the love we carry for her will continue through every act of care shared in her memory.

The Caislee Comfort Kit is more than a collection of keepsakes. It is a small expression of a love that never ends and a reminder to grieving families that they and their babies are not forgotten.
