Be Still Ministry

Be Still Ministry was created by Jonathan & Destiney Hitchens in Southern California to honor the life of their daughter, Caislee Rylin, who was stillborn. Through their own journey of grief, they felt called to create a Christ-centered space for grieving mothers to find rest, hope, and gentle support.

Rooted in faith, Be Still Ministry offers retreats, events, and resources that help mothers navigate the hard and holy journey of loss — reminding them they are not alone, and that even in the stillness, God is near.

Caislee Rylin Foundation

Jonathan & Destiney are the founders of the Caislee Rylin Foundation, created in honor of their daughter to bring hope, healing, and tangible support to families navigating stillbirth and infant loss.

At the heart of the foundation is Caislee's Box, a lovingly curated memory box provided to hospitals to support families in their most heartbreaking moments.

The Foundation's impact extends beyond the hospital through Be Still Ministry, a faith-centered space for grieving mothers, and the Rooted in Grace Community, offering ongoing support for families walking this difficult road.

Every donation directly fuels these efforts — helping us create spaces, resources, and events that remind grieving families they are not alone.

Every Name, Every Story, Held in His Hands

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.”Psalm 34:18

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”Matthew 5:4

We honor their lives. We carry their names. And we cling to the hope that we will see them again.

Mission

-----------

Be Still Ministry exists to create a Christ-centered space for grieving mothers to rest, heal, and encounter God’s comfort after the loss of a child. We believe that even in the stillness of grief, God meets us with peace, hope, and gentle restoration.

Through retreats, conferences, and community resources, we help mothers process their grief, strengthen their faith, and reclaim joy — one quiet step at a time.

While our hearts remain with grieving mothers, we also walk alongside families through the Caislee Rylin Foundation and Rooted in Grace Community — offering spaces of support, healing, and connection for all who carry the ache of loss.

Here, you are seen, your child is remembered, and your story is far from over. Through faith, love, and fellowship, we believe healing is possible.

Beliefs

-----------

God’s Presence in Grief
We believe that God is close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18) and walks with us through our deepest sorrows. He is a refuge and source of peace, even in life’s most painful moments.

The Value of Every Life
Every child, no matter how brief their time on earth, is created in the image of God and has eternal value and purpose (Psalm 139:13-16). We honor the lives of these little ones and celebrate their significance in God’s kingdom.

The Power of Faith to Heal
We believe that God’s love and grace provide the strength to heal from the pain of loss. By leaning on His promises, we can find restoration and purpose through even the most profound grief.

Community and Compassion
God calls us to comfort others with the same comfort we have received from Him (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). We believe in the importance of community and creating a safe space for women to share, grieve, and grow together in faith.

Hope in Eternity
We trust in the promise of eternal life and the hope of being reunited with our loved ones in Heaven (John 14:2-3). This assurance sustains us as we journey through loss and points us toward the joy of God’s eternal plan.

The Power of Stillness
In moments of stillness and surrender, God speaks and provides clarity, peace, and strength (Psalm 46:10). We believe that being still before Him allows us to experience His presence in a transformative way.

Beauty from Ashes
We believe in God’s ability to bring beauty and purpose from pain (Isaiah 61:3). Through faith, grief can be redeemed into something that glorifies Him and helps others find hope.

Statement of Faith

---------------------------------------

Our faith is the foundation of everything we do. We believe in the transformative power of God’s love to bring healing, restoration, and hope to those who are grieving. Rooted in the truth of Scripture, we hold fast to the promise that God is close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18) and that His grace is sufficient even in our deepest pain (2 Corinthians 12:9).

We believe that every life, no matter how brief, is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). Each child is a gift from God, and through our ministry, we honor their lives and legacies. We trust that in our moments of stillness, when the weight of loss feels overwhelming, God meets us with His peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

Through this faith, we are committed to walking alongside women and families who have experienced stillbirth and loss. We provide a space for healing that is grounded in the love of Christ, where hearts can be mended, stories can be shared, and hope can be restored. At Be Still, we strive to reflect the compassion of Jesus, pointing others toward the light of His promises even in the midst of sorrow.

In all that we do, we seek to glorify God, trusting that He can bring beauty from ashes (Isaiah 61:3) and purpose through pain.

Retreats

Our retreats are Christ-centered gatherings created for grieving mothers to rest, heal, and connect with others who understand this sacred, heartbreaking journey. Through worship, prayer, and meaningful workshops, mothers are gently guided in processing their loss while finding comfort in God's promises.

These retreats offer space to honor your child’s memory, embrace quiet moments with God, and rediscover hope for the road ahead. Surrounded by a compassionate community, each retreat is a time for restoration, reflection, and renewal — grounded in God's love and grace.

You are not alone. There is space here for both your sorrow and your hope to breathe.

Events

Our events are smaller, faith-filled gatherings created to foster connection, creativity, and healing for grieving mothers. These gentle gatherings provide space to share stories, honor our babies, and find community with others who understand.

From paint nights and ornament making to journaling workshops and quiet moments of prayer, each event offers a chance to reflect, create, and be reminded that you are not alone.

Whether through art, conversation, or simply sitting in shared stillness, these gatherings are a soft reminder of God’s presence and the strength found in walking this road together.

We believe connection matters.
